An independent view on technology ownership.
Founded in Munich, Alpina Management GmbH brings together backgrounds in software engineering, financial analysis and corporate governance to study how private equity shapes the technology sector.
Built by people who follow the technology sector closely.
Alpina Management GmbH began as an informal reading group among former operators and analysts who wanted a more rigorous, sector-specific lens on private equity. Over time it grew into a small research practice based in München, publishing commentary that is read by students, journalists and industry professionals alike.
We are not a fund and we do not manage client capital. Our purpose is to explain, in plain language, how technology-focused private equity works — the incentives, the mechanics, and the long-term thinking behind it.
How the firm has developed
Founded in Munich
Alpina Management GmbH is established by a small group of analysts focused on technology sector research.
Expanded coverage
Research scope widens to include cybersecurity and cloud infrastructure alongside enterprise software.
Publishing programme launched
The firm begins publishing regular notes and briefings on private equity trends for public reading.
Governance framework refined
Internal editorial standards are formalised to keep published material accurate and clearly informational.
Principles behind our work
Sector depth over breadth
We would rather understand four technology themes well than cover the entire market shallowly.
Clarity and neutrality
Our commentary aims to explain mechanisms, not to persuade. We disclose assumptions and limitations openly.
Long-term thinking
Technology ownership plays out over years, not quarters, and our analysis reflects that time horizon.
No paid services
This site does not sell products, manage funds, or solicit investment. It exists to inform.
